WOLVERINES HEADED FOR REMATCH WITH S-F
10/27/2012 - The Dike-New Hartford Wolverines have already won one game against Sumner-Fredericksburg this football season. In order to reach the Class 1A quarterfinals, they'll need a second win Monday night. The Wolverines battled Denver early before pulling away for a 45-23 victory on Wednesday.
Dike-New Hartford beat Sumner-Fredericksburg 19-7 in the schools' district bye week earlier this season. The Wolverine offense garnered the headlines to start the game with Mooty's 59-yard run on the first play from scrimmage, and the defense held the Cougars to a four-and-out on their only possession in the final 10 minutes of the game.
Monday's second-round contest between Sumner-Fredericksburg and Dike-New Hartford kicks off at 7 p.m. at the Gunderson Sports Complex in Dike.
