Community Calender




The Community Calendar is a free service for all non-profit groups, organizations, churches, and schools.  The Community Calendar can be heard Monday-Friday at 10:30 a.m. on 104.9 KLMJ-FM and 98.9 KQCR-FM.  If you have an event you would like posted on the Community Calendar please send it to: KLMJ/KQCR; P.O. Box 495; Hampton, IA 50441, or fax your information to (641) 456-5655.  You can also e-mail radio@radioonthego.com.  Please have the information for your meeting or event submitted one week in advance.  Items submitted to the Community Calendar air one day before the event and the day of the event on both KLMJ and KQCR.  Additional ads may be purchased at a non-profit rate by calling our office at (641) 456-5656.

Iowa Falls Sanitation Department will be picking up Thursday and Friday garbage routes on Thursday due to the 4th of July Holiday.

Latimer recycling will be picked up on Thursday this week due to the 4th of July Holiday.

Franklin County Public Health will be holding a foot clinic Thursday 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Franklin County Public Health Office in Hampton.  To schedule an appointment, call 641-456-58-20.

The Kothe Memorial Library will be holding Story Time Thursday 10:00 a.m. for preschoolers.

The Hampton Senior Center will be holding BINGO Thursday 1:00 p.m.

The Hanson Family from Kanawha will perform at the Alexander Public Library Thursday 2:00 p.m. during the Summer Reading Program.

Franklin County Public Health will be holding an immunization clinic Thursday 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. at the Franklin County Public Health Office in Hampton.  To schedule an appointment, call 641-456-58-20.

The Dumont Farmers Market will be open Thursday 3:30 to 6:00 p.m. at the old diner spot on Highway 3 in Dumont.

The Swaledale Public Library will be hosting The Powers of a Superhero with the Blank Park Zoo Thursday 3:30 p.m. at the Swaledale Public Library.

The Parkersburg Farmers Market will be open Thursday 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. on third street downtown Parkersburg.

The Grundy Center Farmers Market will be open Thursday 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on the Courthouse Lawn.

The Iowa Specialty Hospital in Belmond will host a Kiddie Parade & Carnival Thursday 5:00 p.m. starting at the United Methodist Church to the Hospital Parking lot.  Judging will start at 4:45 p.m.

The North Central Iowa Model Railroad Club will meet Thursday 7:00 p.m. in the basement of the Rock Island Depot at the Franklin County Fairgrounds in Hampton.

Alcoholics Anonymous will meet Thursday 8:00 p.m. at the St. John Lutheran Church in Belmond.  Use the south door.

A kids' pedal tractor pull will be held Friday 12:00 p.m. at the Rehabilitation Center of Belmond.  Sign up starts at 11:30 a.m.

The Hampton Compost and Brush Site will be open weather permitting Friday 2:00 to 6:30 p.m.

The Aplington Farmers Market will be open Friday 3:30 to 6:00 p.m. in front of Three Star Stores.

The Franklin County Farmers Market will be open Friday 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Main Street Square, downtown Hampton.

The Clarksville Popcorn Stand will be open Friday 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. in downtown Clarksville.

The Riverbend Rally Opening Ceremonies will be held Friday 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Estes Park, downtown Iowa Falls.

Alcoholics Anonymous will meet Friday 8:00 p.m. at the Fireside in Iowa Falls.

Fireworks will be held at the following locations on Friday:

Belmond's 34th Annual Firecracker Classic 5K Run and 5K Fun Walk will be held Saturday 7:30 a.m. at the Mike Long Track in Belmond.

The Iowa Falls Farmers Market will be open Saturday 8:30 to 11:30 at the north end of Estes Park in downtown Iowa Falls.

The Clarion Farmers Market will be open Saturday 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Gazebo Park in Clarion.

The Civilian Conservation Corps/Prisoner of War Recreational Hall in Eldora will be open Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The Belmond 4th of July parade will be held Saturday 10:30 a.m.   Parade line-up starts at Printing Services parking lot.

Troop 1051 Boy Scouts will be holding Cow Chip Bingo Saturday 1:30 p.m. next to the Benny Gambaiani Library in Shell Rock.  $10 Squares will be available from any Troop 1051 Boy Scout until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday

The Heartland Museum in Clarion will be open Saturday 1:30 to 4:00 p.m

The Reinbeck 4th of July parade will be held Saturday 1:30 p.m.  Parade line-up will start at 12:30 p.m.  Follow signs posted at Hwy 175 & Pioneer Road.

The Belmond United Methodist Church will be serving Pie and Ice Cream Saturday 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the East End of Main Street.

The Greene Volunteer Fire Department will be holding its 8th Annual "Picnic in the Park" Saturday 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the shelter house at Perrin Park in Greene.

The Iowa Falls Riverbend Rally parade will be held Saturday 5:00 p.m.

The Clarksville Popcorn Stand will be open Saturday 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. in downtown Clarksville.

Narcotics Anonymous will meet Saturday 7:00 p.m. at the Fireside in Iowa Falls.

The Hampton Municipal Band will present a patriotic concert Saturday 7:30 p.m. at Band Shell Park, downtown Hampton.

A Pancake Breakfast will be served Sunday 7:30 to 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Open Bible in Iowa Falls.

The Belmond Fire Department will be serving an omelet breakfast Sunday 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Belmond Fire Station.

Friends of Beeds Lake will be serving an Omelet Breakfast Sunday 8:00 a.m. till noon at the Beeds Lake Shelter House.

Former area residents Monte Engh and Art Decker will be at the St. Peter's United Church of Christ, 496 Raven Ave, Geneva, Sunday 9:30 a.m. relating their story about Malawi, Africa.  Also speaking will be former Co-pastors of Ankeny First United Methodist Church Rob and Martha Ward.  There will be food and fellowship following worship.

The Parkersburg Historical Home is open for tours Sunday 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.

A Bill Riley Talent Search will be held Sunday 2:00 p.m. in Luick Memorial Auditorium at the Belmond-Klemme High School in Belmond. 

A Bill Riley Talent Show will be held Sunday 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. at Estes Park in Iowa Falls.

An Old Fashioned Sing-Along will be held Sunday 4:00 p.m. at the Windsor Theatre in Hampton.

The Annual "Patriotic Service" will be held Sunday 6:00 p.m. at the Parkersburg Christian Reformed Church.  An Ice Cream Social will follow the service.
