Community Calender

The Community Calendar is a free service for all non-profit groups, organizations, churches, and schools.  The Community Calendar can be heard Monday-Friday at 10:30 a.m. on 104.9 KLMJ-FM and 98.9 KQCR-FM.  If you have an event you would like posted on the Community Calendar please send it to: KLMJ/KQCR; P.O. Box 495; Hampton, IA 50441, or fax your information to (641) 456-5655.  You can also e-mail us by clicking here.  Please have the information for your meeting or event submitted one week in advance.  Items submitted to the Community Calendar air one day before the event and the day of the event on both KLMJ and KQCR.  Additional ads may be purchased at a non-profit rate by calling our office at (641) 456-5656.

Sheffield City-wide garage sales will be held Friday.

Franklin County Public Health will be holding a walk-in blood pressure clinic Friday 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Franklin County Public Health Office in Hampton.

The Franklin County Food Pantry will be open Friday 10:00 a.m. till noon at the Community Services Building in Hampton.

The Hampton Compost and Brush Site will be open weather permitting Friday 2:00 to 6:30 p.m.

The Allison Farmers Market will be open Friday 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the corner of 3rd and Main Street in Allison.

The Aplington Farmers Market will be open Friday 3:30 to 6:00 p.m. in downtown Aplington.

Onsite registration for the Beeds Lake Restoration Run will be held Friday 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Beeds Lake State Park Shelter, with a free pasta feed for registered runners and walkers.

The Bethel Lutheran Church in Parkersburg will be holding their annual Hog Roast Saturday 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. weather permitting in the backyard at the church.  Free will offering will be accepted.

The Franklin County Farmers Market will be open Friday 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Main Street Square, downtown Hampton.

The Wright County Republicans are hosting a Fundraiser Friday 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Water's Edge, Clarmond County Club.

The Clarksville Fire Department will have the popcorn stand open Friday 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. in downtown Clarksville.

Alcoholics Anonymous will meet Friday 8:00 p.m. at the Fireside in Iowa Falls.

Sheffield City-wide garage sales will be held Saturday.

The Friends of Beeds Lake are hosting the Beeds Lake Restoration Run Saturday. The 1/2 marathon will start at 7:30 am., the 5K walk/run and 10K will start at 8:30 a.m. and the 1K tadpole trot at 9:30 a.m. at Beeds Lake State Park north of Hampton.

The Bearcat Booster Club will be holding its Fall Can Drive Saturday 8:00 a.m.  Student-athletes and coaches will pick up cans

curbside in Allison and Greene.  Any rural residents who would like cans picked up Saturday morning can call 319-269-32-92.

The Hampton Compost and Brush Site will be open weather permitting Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The Waverly Farmers Market will be open Saturday 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the 200 block 1st Ave SE, behind Keller's Furniture in Waverly. 

The 11th Greenbelt Tractorcade will be held Saturday 9:00 a.m. starting at the Harding County Farm Museum in Eldora.  Breakfast will be served beginning at 7:00 p.m.

The Clarion Farmers Market will be open Saturday 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on the east side of Gazebo Park in Clarion.

The Shell Rock Historical Museum will be open Saturday 10:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m. located at 127 E. Adair in Shell Rock.

The Sheffield People in the park parade will be held Saturday 10:30 a.m.  Parade line-up begins at 9:00 a.m.  Stagging area is N 5th Street on the East side of the school for walker, cars, floats and tractors.

A kids fishing derby will be held Saturday 10:30 a.m. following the restoration run at Beeds Lake State Park.  Event is free and open for kids ages 2 through 17 years old. 

The Goodell Watermelon Day Parade will be held Saturday 11:00 a.m. followed by a free will meal served by the American Legion

and Sons of the American Legion.  At 1:30 p.m. watermelon will be served and kids games will be held in the park. 

The Vietnam Veterans of American, North Star Chapter 790 are hosting an "All Veteran -All Eras" family picnic Saturday 1:00 p.m. at the Worth County Fairground Shelter House in Northwood.  All veteran's and family members are welcome.

The Bearcat Booster Club Golf Outing will be held Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. "Shotgun Start" at the Round Grove Golf & Country Club in Greene.

A benefit hog roast and auction will be held for Larry Heaberlin Saturday 3:00 p.m. at the Rowan School basement. 

A benefit supper and silent auction for Patti Winkowitsch will be held Saturday at the Bristow Fire Shed.

The Alexander Community Corporation will be holding BINGO Saturday 6:15 p.m. at the Alexander Community Center.  Doors will open at 5:15 p.m. and concession will be available.

The Clarksville Fire Department will have the popcorn stand open Saturday 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. in downtown Clarksville.

Narcotics Anonymous will meet Saturday 7:00 p.m. at the Fireside in Iowa Falls.

The Annual EncouragementCorp Christian Concert will be held Saturday 7:00 p.m. in Central Park, downtown Charles City.  Bring your own lawn chairs, food and drink will be available on the grounds.

The Algona Road Runners Singles Club will be holding a Singles Dance Saturday 8:00 p.m. to midnight at the Burt Community Center.

The Parkersburg Historical Home located at 401 5th Street in Parkersburg will be open Sunday 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.

The Allison Park Board in cooperation with Crawdaddy's Outdoor, of Waverly, is sponsoring a Wet and Wild Carnival Sunday 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Wilder Park, east of Allison.

The St. John's Lutheran Church Vilmar will be holding their Summer Social Sunday 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the church located at 16073 Keystone Ave, Greene.

The Clarksville Fire Department will have the popcorn stand open Sunday 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. in downtown Clarksville.

Cub Scout Registration in Greene will be held Sunday 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Perrin Park in Greene.

Bradford Alcoholics Anonymous and Al-anon will meet Sunday 7:00 p.m. at the Bradford Methodist Church.

The Johnson Strings will present a concert Sunday 7:00 p.m. at the Cottage Community Church located nine miles south of Iowa Falls on Highway 65 and two and a half miles west on County Road D-41.

The Hampton Senior Center will be holding BINGO Monday 1:00 p.m. at the Senior Center in Hampton.

Take Off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS) will meet Monday, weigh-in 5:00---meeting 6:00 p.m. at the Franklin County Alcoholism Service Center in Hampton.

The Ackley Farmers Market will be open Monday 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Victory Park, downtown Ackley.

PROSPER Family Night will be held Monday 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Hampton-Dumont Middle School.

Ripple Effect, a husband and wife comedy acting and music ministry will perform Monday 7:00 p.m. in the South Hardin High School auditorium in Eldora.

The Dumont American Legion Auxiliary will meet Monday 7:30 p.m. at the Dumont Legion Hall.
