Community Calender




The Community Calendar is a free service for all non-profit groups, organizations, churches, and schools.  The Community Calendar can be heard Monday-Friday at 10:30 a.m. on 104.9 KLMJ-FM and 98.9 KQCR-FM.  If you have an event you would like posted on the Community Calendar please send it to: KLMJ/KQCR; P.O. Box 495; Hampton, IA 50441, or fax your information to (641) 456-5655.  You can also e-mail radio@radioonthego.com.  Please have the information for your meeting or event submitted one week in advance.  Items submitted to the Community Calendar air one day before the event and the day of the event on both KLMJ and KQCR.  Additional ads may be purchased at a non-profit rate by calling our office at (641) 456-5656.

The Franklin County Food Pantry will be open Friday 10:00 a.m. till noon at the Community Services Building in Hampton.

The Hampton Compost and Brush Site will be open weather permitting Friday 2:00 to 6:30 p.m.

The Parker School of Terror Haunted House will be open Friday 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. located the corner of 6th Ave NE and 5th St. NE in Belmond.

Alcoholics Anonymous will meet Friday 8:00 p.m. at the Fireside in Iowa Falls.

The Goodell Volunteer Fire Department will be holding their Annual Raffle, Breakfast and Lunch Saturday 6:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Goodell Community Hall.

The Aplington Women's Club will be holding a fall bake sale and plant sale Saturday 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Aplington Community Center.

The Hampton Compost and Brush Site will be open weather permitting Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The Clarion Boy Scouts are hosting all you can eat Dad's Belgium Waffles Saturday 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Clarion-Goldfield -Dows High School in Clarion.

The Clarion Chamber & Development will be holding a ribbon cutting at Dollar General Saturday 8:00 a.m. at their new location on Central Avenue in Clarion.

The 11th Annual Fall Craft Expo in Clarksville will be held Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Clarksville High School.

An Open House at the new Water Treatment Plant for Aplington residents will be held Saturday 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.  Coffee and rolls will be served.

Trick or Treat on Main Street in Clarion will be held Saturday 9:30 to 11:00 a.m.

Boy Scout Troop 138 in Ackley are sponsoring a Shoe Shuffle distribution Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Ackley Public Library.  Many basketball shoes in a variety of sizes and styles for both boys and girls will be available.

The Meservey Public Library will be holding its annual Halloween party Saturday 10:00 a.m. till noon at the library.

A benefit meal, bake sale and auction for Neal and Roxanne Saul will be held Saturday 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Building in Parkersburg

The Shell Rock Historical Museum will be open Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  Free will donations will be accepted.

The downtown Hampton Main Street Halloween Howl will be held Saturday 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.

The Owasa United Methodist Church will be holding a Oyster and Chili Supper Saturday 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Owasa Town Hall.  Free will offering will be accepted.

Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Ackley will host a spaghetti supper Saturday 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the church.

The Alexander Community Corporation will be holding BINGO Saturday 6:15 p.m. at the Alexander Community Center.  Doors will open at 5:15 p.m. and concession will be available.

Narcotics Anonymous will meet Saturday 7:00 p.m. at the Fireside in Iowa Falls.

The Parkersburg Rotary Club annual haunted house will be held Saturday 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. at the Historical Home in Parkersburg.

A benefit Halloween Costume Party for Kent Meyer will be held Saturday 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. at the Ackley Recreation Club.

The Algona Road Runners Singles Club will be holding a Singles Dance Saturday 8:00 p.m. to midnight at the Burt Activity Complex.  All singles are welcome.

The North Central Iowa Model Railroad Club will be holding their third annual show and sale Sunday 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Franklin County Convention Center in Hampton.

The American Legion Post 285 in Parkersburg will be serving a Breakfast Buffet Sunday 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Veteran's Memorial Building in Parkersburg.

The Bristow Fire Department will be serving breakfast Sunday 8:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. at the Bristow Fire Shed.  Free will offering will be taken.

The Grundy Center Kiwanis Club will be serving a Pancake Breakfast Sunday 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Grundy Center Community Center.

The Belmond Boy Scout Troop 15 will be serving their annual Pancake Breakfast Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Leinbach Center in Belmond.

The Sacred Heart Parish in Rockwell will be serving their annual buffet style Turkey Dinner Sunday 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The Clarksville Church of Christ will be holding their annual community hayride Sunday 12:00 to 2:00 p.m.  The hayride will start and end at the church located at 302 S. Elizabeth.  Everyone is invited to join in the fun!

A Breast Cancer Benefit for Brandy (Anderson) Percy will be held Sunday 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake.

The Prairie Homestead Quilters are hosting a quilt show Sunday 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Jenison-Meacham Art Center in Belmond.

The Sheffield Care Center will be holding an Open House to celebrate their 35th Anniversary Sunday 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

The St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Hampton will be serving their 27th Annual Fall Dinner Sunday 4:00 to 7:00 at the church.

A Halloween Parade in Rockford will be held Sunday 4:30 p.m. with Trick or Treating to follow until 6:30 p.m.

"Restored" will present a concert Sunday 5:30 p.m. at West Friesland Church east of Ackley.  Pie and coffee will be served following the concert.  A harvest thanks offering will be accepted.

A Community pep rally for the Hampton-Dumont football team will be held Sunday 6:00 p.m. at the Hampton-Dumont High School gym.  Everyone is welcome to attend.  Playoff shirts will be available to purchase.

Higher Power Quartet will be presenting a concert Sunday 7:00 p.m. at Cottage Community Church located nine miles south of Iowa Falls on Highway 65 and two and a half miles west on County Road D-41.  A free will offering will be taken.

Bradford Alcoholics Anonymous and Al-anon will meet Sunday 7:00 p.m. at the Bradford Methodist Church.

LifeServe Blood Center will be holding an Iowa Falls Community Blood Drive Monday noon till 5:30 p.m. at the American Legion Hall on Highway 65 in Iowa Falls.

The Dows Senior Citizens will meet for lunch Monday at noon at the Dows Senior Center.

LifeServe Blood Center will be holding a Hampton Community Blood Drive Monday 12:30 to 6:00 p.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hampton.

The Hampton Senior Center will be holding BINGO Monday 1:00 p.m. at the Senior Center in Hampton.

Take Off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS) will meet Monday, weigh-in 5:00---meeting 6:00 p.m. at the Franklin County Alcoholism Service Center in Hampton.
