For the first time in program history, the Dike-New Hartford girls tennis team has qualified for the Class 1A team state tournament. The Wolverines won 5-4 at Decorah in Tuesday’s regional final.
The dual went the distance. It was tied 3-3 after singles play, with the wins coming by Claire McCumber at #3, Addy Joslin at #5 and Indee Grassley at #5.
In doubles, the Wolverines clinched the dual with wins by Aida Tott/Izzy Norton at #1 and McCumber/Joslin at #2.
The Wolverines are now 11-1. The first round of the state tournament will be Saturday at a location to be determined.
