Girls golf regional finals taking place on Wednesday.

Hampton-Dumont-CAL will be at the 3A Region 1 Final at Briggs Woods Golf Course in Webster City. Madison Lindaman holds the best 18 hole low for the Bulldogs with a 95.

HD-CAL Head Coach Dustin Moorehead says having a quality team culture has translated to play on the course.

“This year I just feel like our culture is really smooth,” says Moorehead. “The seniors that we have, they’re excited that the weather’s finally starting to turn nice. I think that they’re starting to enjoy, this might be their last sport, or close to their last sport of their high school careers. They’ve taken some of the young kids underneath their wings, just building that team concept, that team camaraderie. It travels out onto the golf course just naturally without really even having to focus or talk about it.”

DNH-AP will be at the 3A Region 5 Final at Pin Oaks Pub and Links in Manchester. Seeri Smith leads the team with a 18 hole low of 85.

Iowa Falls-Alden will be at the 2A Region 2 Final at Carroll Municipal Golf Course. The Cadets placed third at Region 2B at Roland-Story on Friday. Olivia French led the Cadets with a 91 to tie for fourth place.

IFA Head Coach Kody Moses says putting and short game are areas the Cadets look to improve on.

“We say it every single day, putting, eliminating those three putts, four putts on a windy day, on a hilly course, a five putt, we have to get rid of those, you get rid of those by going back to the basics,” says Moses. “Beyond the greens, we need to improve once we’re there, we’re on the fringe, we’re just 20 yards out, we’ve got to commit to hitting a good shot to put the ball in position to make the next putt. Let’s get it within a makeable distance. That’s what it comes down to.”

Grundy Center will host the 2A Region 4 Final at Town and Country Club. Grundy Center advanced with a second place at Region 4B at South Hardin on Friday. Holly Lubbert led the Spartans with a 98 to place fifth. Individually, Bella Keaveny and Emma Top of South Hardin placed second and third to advance.

North Butler takes the course at the 1A Region 3 Final at Nashua Town and Country Club. North Butler advanced with a second place at 1A Region 3B at West Fork on Friday. Reagan Mulder earned a runner-up  placing with an 87.

The top two teams will advance to the state tournament. The top six individuals, plus ties, from non-qualifying teams will also advance to the state tournament.
