Iowa’s volleyball teams learned their state tournament paths Wednesday when the IGHSAU announced regional brackets.
In Class 1A, Clarksville is in Region 6, and will play a first round match at Starmont.
In Class 2A Region 1, AGWSR will host North Butler in a first round match. The winner will advance to top-seeded #1 (2A) Denver. In the same half of the bracket, West Fork will play at Central Springs in a quarterfinal.
#4 (2A) Dike-New Hartford is the top seed in 2A Region 4, and will host a quarterfinal against the winner of Grand View Christian at Woodward-Granger.
#5 (2A) Aplington-Parkersburg is the top seed in Region 5, and will host the winner of South Hamilton at Ogden in a quarterfinal. The opposite quarterfinal features Belmond-Klemme traveling to Lake Mills.
In 2A Region 6, #6 (2A) South Hardin is the top seed, and will host the winner of Sioux Central at Manson-NW Webster in a quarterfinal. #11 (2A) Grundy Center is the #2-seed in the region, and will host a quarterfinal against the winner of Pocahontas Area at Panorama.
In Class 3A Region 2, Clarion-Goldfield-Dows will play a first round match at Forest City.
In 3A Region 3, Hampton-Dumont-CAL will play at #3-seed Union in the first round. In the opposite half of the bracket, Iowa Falls-Alden will play a first round match at top-seeded #3 (3A) West Delaware.
The first round for Classes 1A and 2A is on Monday, October 21. The Class 3A postseason will begin on Tuesday, October 22.
