Over 7 percent of Iowa is now listed as being in a severe drought.
The latest U-S Drought Monitor Report also shows that the coverage area of moderate drought increased in the past week in Iowa from just under 22 percent to 49 percent this week.
Moderate drought conditions can be found in portions of 11 counties, including Bremer and Black Hawk.
In the broadcast area, southwestern Hardin County is rated as being abnormally dry, while the remainder of the counties are listed as being in a moderate drought.
