
The Aplington-Parkersburg boys golf team remained undefeated by winning a triangular at South Hardin Thursday. The Falcons finished with 149 strokes, Oelwein had 165 and the hosts had 170. AP’s Nate Peters was the overall champion with 36 strokes, one over par for the course. Caleb Campbell and Benny Waller tied for third place with 37 strokes. Rylan Asher and Cormick Steege each shot a 39 for a seventh place tie, and Brandon Hartbarger placed 11th with 44 strokes. Their next meet will be Tuesday at home against Columbus Catholic.
The boys tennis team fell 9-0 at home to #7 (1A) Decorah. Seven matches were sweeps by the Vikings. Tyler Wedeking fell 2-1 at #2 singles, where he dropped the tiebreaker set 10-5. Wedeking/Keegan Bolhuis fell 2-1 at #1 doubles, where the first two sets finished with 7-5 tiebreakers. They then dropped the tiebreaker set 10-4. At 2-2, they’ll return to action Monday at Oelwein.
