Large hail was reported overnight in parts of the broadcast area, including after 3am, with the report of golf ball size hail throughout Hampton.
Large hail was also reported about 4:45am today in Sheffield.
In addition, the storms packed strong winds, with a gust up to 76 miles per hour reported at 4:20am today in Clarion.
There have been power outages in the local area.

And the Iowa Department of Transportation reports that 3 semi-trucks were blown over on Interstate 35 at about the 174-mile marker about 4:30am. This would be southeast of Thornton.
