The Grundy Center School Board met Wednesday, April 16.
In regular business, they approved a retainage pay application for Young’s Painting for $2,313.60. After approving some board policies and staff insurance updates, they discussed the 2025-2026 school calendar. They added a certified flex/contract day, then approved the calendar.
Regarding instruction items, they approved a student teaching agreement with Upper Iowa University, dissolved a counselor sharing agreement with Aplington-Parkersburg and approved a counselor agreement with BCLUW.
They then approved several facility-related items. They approved a Garage Force quote for the elementary lunchroom floor for $11,404.00. They approved the purchase of services from McCarter HVAC, including for the 1st floor hallway geothermal heat controllers for $36,225.00 and the elementary lunchroom geothermal system for $74,824.00. They also approved a classroom carpet replacement project for $25,945.84, among other items.
