Dike-New Hartford School Board approved certified budget, dual sports pilot program, and more

The Dike-New Hartford School Board met Wednesday, April 16.

They began with a budget adoption hearing, where the 2025-2026 budget was adopted and certified in the amount of $22,736,892. Total property tax asks are $5,328,284, which is a total tax rate of $14.80 per $1,000 of assessed valuation and an income surtax of eight percent.

During the regular meeting, they hosted a public hearing on the hazard mitigation plan, and approved it after no comments were given.

They held a discussion on the possibility of allowing high school dual sports. They’ll implement a two-year dual sport pilot program, allowing students to begin participating in dual sports in the 2025-2026 school year.

They approved moving the school nurse contract from part-time to full-time beginning next school year, approved to seek bids to expand the concrete and asphalt areas at the DIke campus bus barn, and approved some board policies.

They then held a closed session for the superintendent’s quarterly review. After the closed session, they held an exempt session for negotiations.
