Work is moving forward on the Iowa 122 project in Mason City. Crews have finished stage one of the project ahead of schedule and are now prepared for stage two.
The traffic pattern on Highway 122 currently allows one lane of traffic in each direction at Pierce and Monroe Avenues. On Wednesday morning, until around Memorial Day, weather permitting, crews will switch the roadway to a head-to-head traffic pattern in the eastbound lanes of 122.
During this stage of the project there will be no left turns allowed on the highway or from any side streets between Pierce and Monroe Avenues. In addition, the intersection to access the hospital at Crescent Drive and Taylor Avenues will also be closed for reconstruction.
If you are driving west, you will access the hospital from Mercy Drive. When driving east you will access the hospital from Pierce Avenue.
