Bulldog Junior Aaden Keehn on competing in Bulldog Country and prep for hurdle events.
“The seniors I’ve been with for three years of track now, so it’s always nice to support the guys that you’ve been with the longest. Hearing everyone cheer my name saying he’s right there, gave me that little extra push especially in the lows to get down there. In the highs I almost had him over halfway through the race and then Cook ended up catching me there but still felt like a good race,” says Keehn. “A lot of help from my dad, he was a state champion in high school in the lows so that’s been a lot of help to me. He didn’t run the highs when he was in high school. Those two being nine inch difference there’s a lot of different technique that’s got to go into those. A lot of different stamina, control and my speed I’ve got to figure out.”
Aplington-Parkersburg:
1st in 4×800
1st in distance medley relay
2nd in 4×100

Tiger Sophomore Jonah VanderWilt on the achievement and his next target time.
“It was really exciting, I’ve been wanting to get that record for a long time. It felt nice to take it away from my coach, but he was obviously really happy for me. It felt really good,” says VanderWilt. “It’s really hard. I think it’s probably the hardest race in track. You have to almost sprint the whole thing, really. I would really like to go under two minutes. I would be the first person in school history to do that. I think that would be very cool.”
