A 20-year-old man from Silvis, Illinois was arrested this week on a Hardin County warrant charging him with three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor-cause to engage in act.
The state is alleging that Izaya Vanzuiden solicited explicit photos from a female minor over the period of several months in late 2024, with the minor being from Hardin County.
This case came to the attention of Hardin County authorities through an investigation conducted by the Ames Police Department involving similar charges in Story County. Vanzuiden is facing a total of eight charges from the Story County case, including five felony level charges, and has a jury trial scheduled to begin in June in Nevada.
Vanzuiden is being held at the Hardin County Jail on a 75-thousand dollar cash only bond, and has a preliminary court hearing set for May 2nd in Eldora. If convicted on the Hardin County charges, he could be sentenced for up to 75-years in prison.
