Cadets hosting Bulldogs in NCC soccer Monday

The Iowa Falls-Alden soccer teams will host Hampton-Dumont-CAL for a North Central Conference doubleheader Monday, which will air on 104.9 KLMJ.

The Cadet girls (6-1, 6-0 NCC) will look to remain atop the league standings, entering with the momentum of three straight wins. They’ve shut out three straight opponents, and have scored 16 goals in that span. They were especially efficient in Thursday’s 6-0 win over Wright County, where they connected on nearly 38 percent of shots on goal.

Due to postponements, Hampton-Dumont-CAL (0-5-1, 0-4 NCC) hasn’t competed since a 7-2 loss to Charles City on Tuesday, April 15. Madison Heilskov is the only goalkeeper to have played so far, having recorded a 79.1 save percentage. The Cadets won 10-0 when the teams met earlier in the season.

The Hampton-Dumont-CAL boys (3-1-2, 3-1 NCC) will look to remain near the top of the league standings, entering the day in second place. In their last game, they defeated Garner Hayfield Ventura 3-1 Thursday, where each goal was scored in the first half.

Iowa Falls-Alden (0-7-1, 0-6-1 NCC) will go for its first win, having been shut out in three straight games. They fell 7-0 to Nevada on Friday.

Coverage will start at 5:20 p.m., followed by the kickoff at 5:30.
