Sunday about 12:23pm the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department received the report of a garage on fire at the corner of Borst Street and 6th Street in Sheffield. No injuries reported. The Sheffield Fire Department was called out along with the fire departments from Rockwell and Dougherty.
Upon arrival, the garage at the residence at 302 North 6th Street was fully engulfed in flames and was spreading towards the garage to the north and the house to the east of the original fire.
All parties involved were evacuated and the sheriff’s department was able to rescue a dog. Firefighters were able to quickly get control of the fire and prevent any further damage.
Numerous other agencies assisted at the scene. No cause has been listed for the fire.
