Today, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds and Senate Republicans announced a compromise for an overall budget of 9-point-417-billion dollars for fiscal year 2026.  These targets include the education funding agreement from earlier in the session.

The joint target between the Senate and Governor Reynolds is allocated to budget subcommittees in several areas, the most to what’s called unassigned standings at $4,836,758,719.

Iowa Senate Republicans plan to move the budget bills through their process this week, but are still negotiating with Republicans in the Iowa House, before lawmakers adjourn for the year.
