Aplington-Parkersburg Spring Sports Update – 4-29-25

Several Aplington-Parkersburg spring sports teams will be in action Tuesday.

The boys golf team will join South Hardin at a triangular at Dike-New Hartford. It’ll start at 4:15 at Fox Ridge Golf Course.

The #10 (1A) girls tennis team, coming off a fourth place finish at a tournament at Pella Saturday, will travel to #3 (1A) Decorah for a non-conference dual. Decorah is 5-0 in duals, and last competed at a tournament in Clinton Saturday. It’ll start at 4:00 p.m.

The track & field teams will compete at home for the first time this season when they host the Falcon Coed Invitational. They’ll welcome eight other schools from the NICL and Iowa Star Conference. It’ll start at 4:45.

The soccer teams will both take on Hudson in NICL action. The #8 (2A) United (5-1, 3-1 NICL) will host the #4 (1A) Pirates in a game that’ll air on 99 The Wave. AP/DNH has won three straight games in shutout fashion, where they’ve racked up 15 goals. Aiden Merrill and Ty Luhring have each scored seven goals to lead the team. Hudson (6-0-1, 4-0 NICL) has won three straight, including 3-1 over GC-GR on Monday, April 21 in their most recent game. Hudson won 2-1 when the teams met on Monday, April 7. Pregame coverage will start at 4:50, followed by the kickoff at 5:00.

The #14 (1A) Falcon girls (4-3, 2-3 NICL) have lost two straight, both to #1 (1A) Denver. They’ve had two straight games postponed. #6 (1A) Hudson (9-1, 5-1 NICL) has earned shutouts in each of its wins. Taylor Davis leads with 21 goals. They won 2-0 when the teams met earlier in the season. It’ll start at 5:00.
