A North Central Iowa man entered a guilty plea Wednesday in federal court at Sioux City to one count of possession of child pornography.
46-year-old Cleon Mitchell, Junior of Mason City admitted during his plea hearing that from August 2022 through April 2024, he used the Kik and SnapChat applications to receive and possess visual depictions of child pornography, which involved a minor under the age of 12.
A forensic analysis of his electronics showed that Mitchell possessed 30 videos and 50 images of child porn.
Mitchell could be sentenced for up to 20-years in federal prison and fined up to 250-thousand dollars.
