Mason City Mayor Bill Schickel announced today that he will not seek a 6th term in office this fall.
Schickel is Mason City’s longest serving mayor, currently in his 5th four-year term.
He served three terms in the Iowa House of Representatives and was also a co-chairman of the Iowa Republican Party.
Schickel’s current term as mayor ends December 31st.
