The Iowa Valley Community College District Board of Directors is celebrating Board Appreciation Month during May.

The district will formally recognize the board of directors at their regular monthly meeting on May 14 at 3:30 p.m. ahead of the board meeting at 4:00 p.m. The meeting and recognition will be open to the public.

The IVCCD recognizes the hard work, leadership, and vision of their Board of Directors. Working collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and the wider community, they ensure that Ellsworth Community College, Marshalltown Community College, and Iowa Valley Grinnell provide accessible, high-quality education and diverse opportunities for all learners.

Dr. Anne Howsare Boyens, President of IVCCD, says that their board of directors play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Iowa Valley, and that they invest countless hours in strategic planning, policy oversight, community engagement, and advocating for students and the district as a whole.

The Board of Directors is entrusted with significant responsibilities, including overseeing the district’s budget, establishing policies that promote a positive and supportive learning environment, and making crucial decisions that impact students and the broader community.
