The track & field teams of the North Iowa Cedar League will compete for conference titles at Thursday’s NICL Mega Meet at Jesup.
The boys 4×400-meter relay will be among the key races, with five league teams holding times within the top 20 in Class 2A.

“It just keeps us motivated at every meet because we know someone’s going to come out there and try to beat us,” Grundy Center senior Brody Zinkula says. “Especially after they saw our Drake Relays time, they want to come and try to beat us. So we’re going to have to our best every meet.”

The Dike-New Hartford girls hold the fastest 4×100 time.

“I feel like we just need to get our handoffs more crisp, run like we’re competing, just overall just go out there and compete and do our best,” Dike-New Hartford senior Macie Graves says. “Even if we might not come out with a good outcome, at least we’re trying our hardest.”

Grundy Center will look to defend their team titles, having won the girls and boys meets last season.

It’ll start at 3:00 p.m.
