Thursday night the Hampton City Council voted 3-2 on the second reading of an ordinance amendment concerning dangerous and vicious animals, but it failed to advance.
The ordinance will continue to be discussed at the next council workshop.
In other business, the Hampton council renewed the Wellmark Health insurance for fiscal year 2026, and voted to keep the employee health insurance contribution at 13 percent for the next fiscal year.
