
Leif A. Olson was nominated by President Donald Trump to be the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Iowa. Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley and Senator Joni Ernst endorsed his nomination.
Olson’s nomination has been referred to the Senate Judiciary Committee for vetting and consideration. The full Senate will vote on the nomination after receiving the Committee’s recommendation.
Olson is currently Iowa’s Chief Deputy Attorney General. Previously, he oversaw the Attorney General of Texas’ Special Litigation Division, served as a senior policy advisor for the U.S. Department of Labor and gained courtroom experience as a trial and appellate lawyer.
