Busy summer camping season expected by the Iowa DNR

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is preparing for the summer camping season.  With more than 759-thousand campers and more than 13-point-5-million visitor days last year, state parks are anticipating another busy season.

Several state parks will be showcasing their new or renovated amenities.  For example, McIntosh Woods State Park in Ventura has a fish cleaning station replacement up and running.

However, several state parks are also busy with new construction projects.  The campground at Clear Lake State Park is undergoing renovations and is closed to reservations, with a portion reopening in June.

Boat ramp repairs are also taking place at Pine Lake State Park at Eldora.
