Students and staff at New Hartford Elementary & Dike-New Hartford Junior High School had a later than expected start to their school day Tuesday.
In a notice sent to district families at 8:08 a.m., Superintendent Justin Stockdale said students and staff were being kept outside the building as a precautionary measure while MidAmerican Energy investigated a faint odor. During this time, district staff helped ensure that students remained comfortable on their buses.
21 minutes later, Stockdale informed families that MidAmerican Energy had given the “all-clear” to return to the building, and the school day resumed as normal.
