Local teams competed at Top of Iowa Conference Golf Meets Monday

The North Butler and West Fork girls and boys golf teams competed at the Top of Iowa East Conference tournaments on Monday.

In the girls tournament at Pioneer Town and Country Club in Manly, West Fork placed third with 410 strokes, and North Butler was fourth with 413 strokes.

Turning in the top cards for North Butler were Zoey Thompson with a 93 placed fifth and Amelia Thompson with a 100 placed eighth. Both earned first team all-conference honors.

West Fork’s Brooke Rother with a 97 in seventh place, earned first team all-conference followed by teammate Emersyn Brown in 12th place with a 102.

In the boys tournament at Nashua Town and Country Club, West Fork was the runner-up with 342 strokes, followed by third place North Butler with a 345.

North Butler’s Nolan Reser placed fourth with a 77 and earned first team all-conference honors, followed by teammate Lincoln Johnson in 13th place with a 85.

West Fork’s Nolan Shreckengost and Levi Staudt tied for 10th place with an 84 to lead the Warhawks.

The Belmond-Klemme girls and boys golf teams competed at the Top of Iowa West Conference tournament on Monday. 

In the girls tournament at Belmond Country Club, B-K placed third with 388 strokes. Asylee Pals placed fifth with a 94 and Taylor McVey with a 95 was seventh to lead the Broncos. Both earned first team all-conference honors.

In the boys tournament at Spring Valley Golf Course in Livermore, B-K placed fourth with 349 strokes. 

Up next the North Butler and West Fork boys will be at the Class 1A Sectional tournament at Nashua Town and Country Club on Wednesday. Tee off is at 10 a.m. The North Butler girls will be at the Class 1A 3B tournament at Acorn Park Golf Course in Saint Ansgar. The West Fork  and Belmond-Klemme girls will be at the Class 1A 3A tournament at Jewell Golf and Country Club on Friday. The Belmond-Klemme boys will be at the Class 2A Sectional at Clarmond Country Club on Wednesday. Tee off is at 10 a.m.
