
Iowa State University President Wendy Wintersteen is planning to retire at the beginning of next year.
She was named president of Iowa State in October 2017 after a six-month nationwide search, and was the first woman named to head the Ames based college when she became the university’s 16th president.
Wintersteen has served in many positions at Iowa State University, including as the Dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. She has worked for the college for 46 years.
