The Hampton-Dumont-CAL and Belmond-Klemme Esports team will compete at the IAHSEA Spring State Showdown in Marshalltown on Monday. The Bulldogs will be playing Valorant in Class 1A Division 1. The Broncos will be playing Valorant in Class 1A Division 2.
H-D-CAL went 7-0 during the regular season to advance to state. This is back to back state appearances in 2025, as the Bulldogs also qualified during the winter season in Class 2A Overwatch and Rocket League. The Bulldogs finished in second place in the Rocket League tournament.
B-K went 5-2 during the regular season to advance to state. This is back to back state appearances in 2025. The Broncos qualified for showdown during the winter season in Class 1A Overwatch. The Broncos finished in third place at the tournament.
The tournament begins at 8:15 a.m. at the B.A. Niblock – MCSD Orpheum Welcome Center in Marshalltown on Monday.
