Tuesday morning the Butler County Board of Supervisors approved a resolution to create the position of General Assistance Director.

The Butler supervisors approved a job description and posting for the new position as well.

In Iowa, at the county level, the General Assistance Director’s primary responsibility is to administer the county’s General Assistance Program.  This involves determining eligibility for assistance, providing financial aid to eligible individuals and families, and ensuring compliance with state and local laws and policies.

They also handle applications, conduct interviews, and manage the program’s budget.
