The Aplington-Parkersburg girls soccer team will begin the playoffs by hosting Clear Lake for a 1A Region 8 quarterfinal Wednesday. It’ll air on 104.9 KLMJ.
The Falcons (8-6-2) will enter the playoffs after winning two of their final five regular season games, which ended with a 4-0 win over Union Friday. They’ve used a balanced offensive attack throughout the season, led by eight goals by Adri Allan and seven by Kiara Morris.
Clear Lake (9-5-2) won two straight games to end the regular season, including 4-1 over Webster City and 5-1 over Wright County. Their offense has leaned on the production of Addison Jones, whose 16 goals are by far the most on the team.
It’ll be a rematch of AP’s season opener, which they won 2-0.
Coverage will start at 6:50 p.m., followed by the kickoff at 7:00. The winner will advance to a regional semifinal against either Webster City or #10 (1A) Dike-New Hartford.
