The West Fork and Dike-New Hartford Esports teams competed in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at IAHSEA Spring Showdown in Marshalltown on Wednesday.
West Fork as the #3 seed placed fourth in the Class 1A tournament. The Warhawks to begin the day were upset 2-1 by #6 seeded Sheldon in their quarterfinal match. They rebounded with a 2-0 win over #7 seeded North Fayette Valley in their round two match. They also won in 2-1 over #4 seeded Dike-New Hartford in the fourth round match to advance to the third place match. In the third place match, the Warhawks fell 2-1 to #2 seeded Woodward-Granger to conclude the tournament.
Dike-New Hartford as the #4 seed did not place in the Class 1A tournament. The Wolverines won 2-0 over #5 seeded Ridge View in the quarterfinal round. They fell 2-0 to #1 seeded Estherville-Lincoln Central in semifinal match. Then fell to #3 seeded West Fork in their fourth round match to conclude the tournament.
