The Iowa Falls-Alden girls soccer team will look to follow a regular season in which they won a North Central Conference title with a long playoff run. They’ll host Wright County in Friday’s 2A Region 1 first round game.
The Cadets (11-4) defeated Wright County 5-1 at home in Monday’s regular season finale, where Adessa Gillespie led with four goals. Their offense has been crisp, with a league-high 58 goals in the regular season. With 17 goals against, the defense has also helped carry the team to its wins.
Wright County (1-10-3) will look to snap a five-game losing streak, which included Monday’s loss to the Cadets. They’ve been limited to 11 goals with a shot on goal percentage of 17.7.
It’ll start at 7:00 p.m. The winner will advance to a regional semifinal at Marion.
