The Casey’s store on the western edge of Dows at 2721 Dows-Williams Road is closing June 1st.
Company officials say the closing is a business decision, as there is also a Casey’s at 904 Cardinal Avenue, just off Interstate 35 by the Dows rest area. Its remodeled kitchen was opened this week.
A petition with hundreds of signatures was given to Casey’s management in the area, in an attempt to keep the existing Casey’s store open.
Casey’s was founded in 1968, with the first store in Boone. The company now has nearly 29-hundred stores in 20 states, and employs over 40-thousand people.
