The Butler County Board of Supervisors this week met with County EMS Coordinator Kari Coates who discussed the process for her department to become a provisional Advanced EMT/Paramedic Service.
Coates says she recently added an Advanced EMT, who will be covering Monday-Thursday from 4pm-9pm, to help cover the calls while their volunteers are coming home from work and such.
Eventually as the calls for service increase, Coates would like to hire a 3rd person to work a weekend package to help weekend coverage for their volunteers, but those hours of coverage have yet to be determined.
The topic is expected to be further discussed at the next Butler County Board of Supervisors meeting.
