
The U-S Drought Monitor is produced through a partnership between the National Drought Mitigation Center at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, the U-S-D-A, and NOAA.
The latest report for Iowa through Tuesday morning shows the drought conditions continue to worsen, as the coverage area for no drought dropped almost three percent to just over 44 percent.
There were increases in both the abnormally dry and moderate drought categories.
In the broadcast area, northeastern Grundy, eastern and northern Butler, and northeastern Cerro Gordo Counties are listed as being abnormally dry, the rest of the local area has no drought conditions listed.
