
The IHSAA Golf state tournaments concluded Wednesday, and the NICL’s talent was on full display at the 2A tournament at Gates Park Golf Course in Waterloo. Columbus Catholic was the team champion with 600 strokes, Grundy Center was second at 614 and Aplington-Parkersburg was third at 636. East Marshall was fifth at 641.
Nate Peters and Caleb Campbell tied for 19th at +14. Mick Steege tied for 39th at +20 and Brandon Hartbarger tied for 47th at +23.
Leading the Spartans, Judd Jirovsky tied for second place at even, Preston Martens was seventh at +4, Jackson Kiewiet tied for 23rd at +16 and Eli Wegmann tied for 30th at +18.
West Fork placed seventh at the 1A tournament at South Hills Golf Course in Waterloo with 681 strokes. Levi Staudt tied for 18th at +19, Nolan Shreckengost tied for 26th at +22, Aiden Rembe tied for 45th at +32 and Jordan Demaray tied for 51st at +35.
