Knutsen earns medal, highlighting local action at IGHSAU State Golf

The IGHSAU Golf State Tournaments concluded with the second day of action Friday.

At the 2A tournament in Boone, Grundy Center placed fourth at +129, as part of another strong representation by the North Iowa Cedar League. Oelwein was the champion at +90, Sumner-Fredericksburg was third at +122 and Jesup was sixth at +165. Individually, Avery Knutsen earned the eighth place medal at +20. Rounding out the Spartan scores, Leah Larson was 21st at +29, Holly Lubbert was 26th at +37 and Kahlynn Draper was 34th at +43.

South Hardin was represented individually by Emma Topp, who placed 33rd at +41.

At the 3A tournament in Solon, DNH/AP’s Keely Kauten placed 14th at +10 and Seeri Smith was 37th at +26.
