Central Iowa woman enters not guilty plea on a felony drug charge in Hardin County

An August 12th jury trial has been scheduled for a 40-year-old woman from Colfax who is facing a controlled substance violation charge of possession with the intent to manufacture or deliver methamphetamine in Hardin County District Court.

In a criminal complaint filed by the Iowa Falls Police Department, Lacey Petersen was a passenger in a vehicle on January 10th.  She exited the vehicle, leaving her purse behind.

A search of the purse revealed two bags suspected of being methamphetamine.

The DCI lab results showed that altogether the meth weighed over 47-grams.

If convicted on the drug charge, Petersen could be sentenced for up to 25-years in prison.
