Cadet Softball beats CGD, back in action Thursday

The Iowa Falls-Alden softball team played another close game, and defeated Clarion-Goldifield-Dows 6-5 on the road Wednesday in North Central Conference action. It was the team’s third one-run game of the season, and the second of which they’ve won. At 2-2, they’ll return to action Thursday at Nevada for a non-conference game. The Cubs have four players batting over .400.

The baseball team will play for the first time since Monday’s doubleheader split with Webster City, where they won a close first game and were blown out in the second game. They’ll look to build around Ryder Pitre and Raine Pitre’s offensive production, who are both batting over .400. At 6-2, Nevada is coming off Wednesday’s 10-4 win at Perry.

Both games will start at 7:30 p.m.
