Iowa State University Extension and Outreach will be holding a Conservation Drainage School at the Borlaug Learning Center near Nashua August 26th-28th.
Kapil Arora is an Extension Field Agronomist.
“So these conservation practices include oxbows, saturated buffers, wetlands, alternative intakes, controlled drainage, some of the newer concepts such as drainage water capture and recycling, two-stage ditches, also wood-chipped bioreactors. And all these practices are designed to conserve drainage water and address the water quality that comes along with those tile lines.”
Arora says by attending the school, participants will be able to plan, design, and layout conservation drainage practices and workout estimated project costs.
“NRCS folks, county administrators who might be involved in tile drainage, drainage contractors and other landowners and drainage district officials as well who are interested in conservation drainage.”
The 3-day school is $475. To register, call 515-294-62-22.
