Bulldogs win three at Clarion-Goldfield-Dows ahead of Tuesday visit to Osage

The Hampton-Dumont-CAL diamond sports teams went 3-0 at Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Monday. The baseball team swept the doubleheader 7-1 and 6-5 in 11 innings. The softball team won 11-1 in four innings.

After the dominant win, the softball team will return to action at Osage Tuesday. The #9 (2A) Green Devils (11-0) are coming off a 9-8, nine-inning win over West Fork Monday in Top of Iowa-East action. All but three players bat over .400. Head Coach Kelsey Enslin on the matchup.

“It’s going to be really tough game,” Enslin says. “They’re a tough team. They have a tough conference. So we’re going have to do a lot of things right early in the week. And then we have Webster City and Humboldt. So a lot of big games this week.”

It’ll start at 6:00.

The Bulldog baseball team (3-10) has put together its first win streak of the season after the doubleheader sweep of the Cowboys. Osage (4-4) has won three straight after beating West Fork 8-4 Monday. Their pitching staff has been dominant, giving up less than two earned runs per game. It’ll start at 7:30.
