The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows baseball team will have a unique opportunity to play at Target Field Thursday. They’ll take on Bishop Garrigan at 4:00, a game that’ll air on 104.9 KLMJ.
Head Coach Ryan Nail says it’ll provide lasting memories for the student-athletes.
“We’re really excited for the opportunity,” Nail says. “Lucky enough for them to reach out to us and give us this opportunity. We’ve tried to do some special things in years past by playing at Principal Park and Field of Dreams and things like that. And you know, it’s a really good opportunity for us and something I like to do, and opportunities I like to find for our kids to give them some good high school memories. And there’ll be a few kids on the team that will be able to say in their high school career that they played at Principal Park, Field of Dreams and Target Field. So I’m always looking for those opportunities. I’m glad it worked out.”
Bishop Garrigan enters just over .500, and will play the second day of a back-to-back after a home conference game against Forest City Wednesday. They’ve hit just .221 as a team, but Nick Leerar has batted .467 to lead the team.
Coverage will start at 3:45 p.m.
