About 3:20pm Tuesday, the Eldora Police Department attempted to serve a parole violation arrest warrant on 56-year-old Daniel Armfield at his residence at 1102 18th Street. Upon contact, Armfield barricaded himself inside the residence. Other law enforcement arrived on the scene, and Armfield allegedly assaulted two officers when they tried to take him into custody, and he again barricaded himself inside the residence.
Additional support was requested and the Iowa State Patrol arrived on the scene. Around 8:30pm, Armfield was safely taken into custody without further incident.
Armfield has been charged with two counts of assault on persons engaged in certain occupations, and for interference with official acts.
If convicted on the two counts of assault on persons engaged in certain occupations, Armfield could be sentenced for up to 10-years in prison.
