The North Hansell Shooting Range, located north of Hansell along county road S-56, was damaged by the severe thunderstorms that rolled across the local area Wednesday evening.

Franklin County Conservation Director Ned Parker tells RadioOnTheGo News that the shooting range is closed until further notice, as both canopies were damaged.

Parker says they plan to get the canopies cleaned up next week so the range can be opened again, but he’s unsure when the canopies will be rebuilt.

Franklin County Conservation offers annual passes to use the North Hansell Shooting Range for $50.  To sign up for a pass, you first need to complete a couple of forms, either at the conservation office, or by going online to franklincountyia.gov, and by looking under the conservation and parks department page.
