The Grundy Center summer sports teams each clinched NICL-West championships when they swept AGWSR on the road in doubleheaders Monday.
The Spartan softball team won its first conference title since 1989. They did so while not giving up a run throughout the two games, winning 7-0 and 8-0 in six innings.
The Spartan baseball team won 14-0 and 7-3, moving to 10-0 in league play to clinch the outright title. They’ve won at least a share of the conference title every season since 2021.
Grundy Center will host Hudson Tuesday with the softball game at 5:00 and the baseball game at 7:00. AGWSR will be at Oelwein Tuesday, with both varsity games starting at 7:00.
