Butler Sheriff arrests four in Dumont vandalism case

The Butler County Sheriff’s Department has filed charges against four individuals in connection with a vandalism incident that occurred at the former Dumont School building, also known as the Revitalize Dumont building, on the evening of May 26th.

18-year-old Felipe Velica of Hampton was charged with 4th degree criminal mischief, criminal trespass with damage greater than $300, and 2 counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. 18-year-old Chloe Passehl of Latimer was charged with criminal trespass with damage greater than $300.  A 15-year-old female juvenile from Hampton, and a 14-year-old male juvenile from Hampton, were each charged in juvenile court with 4th degree criminal mischief and the criminal trespass charge.

The total cost of the damage to the building is estimated at $637, and restitution has been requested.

Velica and Passehl both posted bond and have been released from custody.
