The IGHSAU announced regional postseason softball brackets Friday.
Iowa Falls-Alden is in 3A Region 2, and will travel to Benton in the first round. In the other half of the bracket, Clarion-Goldfield-Dows will travel to Eagle Grove.
In 3A Region 3, Hampton-Dumont-CAL will play a first round game at #15 (3A) Center Point-Urbana.
In 2A Region 4, South Hardin will play a first round game at South Hamilton, the winner of which will advance to a quarterfinal at #4 (2A) Osage. Dike-New Hartford will host Woodward-Granger in the opposite quarterfinal. In the opposite half of the bracket, Belmond-Klemme will open in a quarterfinal by hosting Ogden.
Grundy Center is in 2A Region 5, and will travel to Alburnett in the quarterfinal round for a rematch of last year’s quarterfinal, which was an upset win by the Spartans over the #2-ranked team.
Aplington-Parkersburg is in 2A Region 7, and will travel to Denver for a first round game. The winner will advance to a quarterfinal at #7 (2A) Beckman Catholic. In the opposite quarterfinal, North Butler will host South Winneshiek.
#8 (2A) West Fork is the top seed in 2A Region 8, and will host a quarterfinal between the winner of a first round game between Alta-Aurelia and South Central Calhoun.
#2 (1A) Clarksville is the top seed in 1A Region 2, and will host a quarterfinal against the winner of a first round game between Turkey Valley and Saint Ansgar.
In 1A Region 8, AGWSR will host a first round game against Colo-Nesco. The winner will advance to a quarterfinal at #11 (1A) Ankeny Christian.
