
Two adults from Eldora were each charged in May in connection to the fatal shooting of a 13-year-old Eldora girl who died in April of 2024. Keeley Baer of Eldora was shot and killed by her friend, a 12-year-old boy, on April 14th, 2024, which was unintentional and as a result of “gun play”, this according to the state. Investigators concluded the boy found the pistol in his home, where the shooting took place.
35-year-old Robin Raper and 42-year-old James Ainsco were each charged with child endangerment resulting in death, involuntary manslaughter, and for making firearms available to a minor. Raper entered a not guilty plea on June 16th, and had her trial set for August 12th. However, today, she waived her right to a speedy trial.
Ainsco filed a written plea of not guilty on June 25th, with his jury trial set to begin September 16th in Hardin County District Court.
If convicted on the two felony charges, each could be sentenced for up to 30-years in prison.
