Reminder about Iowa’s new fireworks law

In Iowa, a new state law prevents cities and counties from banning fireworks on July 3rd, July 4th, and December 31st.

This means that while local governments can still regulate fireworks on other days, they cannot prohibit the use on these specific holidays.

The law aims to allow Iowans to celebrate these holidays with fireworks without local restrictions.

Fireworks can be shot off on July 3rd from 9am-10pm, and on July 4th from 9am-11pm.
