The Iowa Supreme Court has approved $1,177,030 in grants to nonprofit programs that provide legal assistance to low-income Iowans with civil legal problems.
The court awarded grants to 14 different organizations throughout Iowa. The grants are funded by the interest on the Lawyers Trust Account program.
La Luz Centro Cultural in Hampton will receive $67,900. La Luz funds legal services to low-income immigrants seeking permanent immigration statuses, with a service area that includes Franklin, Wright, Hardin, and Cerro Gordo Counties.
